Why Flex Boots?
• Flex Hoof Boot is a flexible, soft and durable barefoot boot that offers protection but doesn’t interfere with the function of the natural hoof mechanism.
• Flex Hoof Boots have a unique, rubbery sole. Unlike most other hoof boots, the base flexes to adapt to the ground, thus concussion is naturally absorbed in the hoof, rather than the leg. Flex Boots will take the hardest pressure from the impact of the terrain yet allows the horse to really feel the ground and that way to develop its feet every step of the way.
• The structure of the insole is different from any other hoof boot in the market, so we must emphasize to horse owners that they learn to offer a weekly maintenance touch-up to a horse. Any sharp and pointy edges, long toe or the hoof wall that has a primary weight bearing will damage the boot. A good trim based in anatomy is a benefit not only to a horse but the function of the boot too. That’s why we call Flex boots a holistic hoof boot.
• If the horse has sore feet, the owner can offer extra protection with Flex pads. In general, additional padding is not needed, but for laminitic and very sensitive horses, pads may be considered. • Flex Hoof Boot is the perfect way to protect the hooves after removing horseshoes. In this case, pads may be optimal to provide extra protection, as well as to account for hoof expansion that will likely occur over the next month or two.
• Soft and removable protective neoprene gaiter is included with the boot. Neoprene gaiters are available in numerous colors. • Flex boot has a unique base that allows you to add studs. We recommend BestGrip studs, model BG1100
• Weight of the boot is about 270 - 350 g (size 110 to 130)
